CLEVELAND, Ohio – March 9, 2009 – DVUV, LLC announced important additions to its R&D and manufacturing teams. These staff expansions will enable the company to accelerate its new product development timetable and engineer the next generation of ultraviolet (UV) curing and powder coating chemistry and application systems.

Effective immediately, Nicholas Prutchick has been named Manager, UV Powder Material and Application Technology. Mr. Prutchick’s primary objective will be to design and engineer a second generation of UV-cured powder coating application systems for wood and other heat-sensitive
substrates. In his previous role as Manager, UV Powder Application System, Mr. Prutchick was instrumental in the design and installation of the company’s current UV-cured powder application system. The company benefits from Mr. Prutchick’s considerable experience with other
manufacturing innovators including Herman Miller and Nordson Corporation.

Domenico Grossi will replace Mr. Prutchick as Manager, UV Powder Application System. A native of Italy, Mr. Grossi brings valuable production management experience including 8 years with S.G. Plastica S.p.A., a key supplier to leading European automobile manufacturers such as Fiat S.p.A. Mr. Grossi will be responsible for all of the company’s production as well as overall operations management and quality control. His main objective will be to realize new production efficiencies and further improve productivity in order to meet escalating demand.

James Cox has been appointed to a newly created position as Formulator, UV-Cured Powder Coatings and QC Manager in the company’s Keyland subsidiary. In this new position, Mr. Cox will be tasked with developing advanced powder chemistries and accelerating the company’s release of new formulations to meet customer demand and enable new finish innovations. Mr. Cox brings more than 10 years of coatings industry experience with leading manufacturers including BASF, Ferro and PolyOne.

“Given the current economic climate, we are naturally weighing any investments extremely carefully and reviewing all of our expenses to identify opportunities for savings,” said DVUV’s President Michael F. Knoblauch. “At the same time, however, we believe strongly in the potential of UV powder coating technology and remain firmly committed to the development of its potential for finishing wood and other heat-sensitive substrates. This new staff expansion is a vital investment that underscores our commitment and will help us both better serve customers in the near term and also advance our capacity to deliver future innovations.”
