At DVUV, we are firmly committed to protecting the environment. Creating high-quality products that reduce environmental impact is fundamental to our business.

Recognizing the tremendous benefits offered by new advances in UV-curing and powder coating technologies, we founded DVUV specifically to apply these new technologies to develop innovative wood finishes. Our goal was to use these new advances to open up new design possibilities and offer more environmentally sustainable alternatives.
|
Examples of the ways in which DVUV is helping to protect the environment include:
- Our medium density fiberboard (MDF) is composed of byproducts from the milling of dimensional lumber and plywood - making use of leftover wood that would otherwise be scrap and reducing the total lumber demand.
- Our powder coating and UV-curing finishing process eliminates the need for solvents. It does not produce harmful emissions, such as volatile organic compounds (VOCs) or hazardous air pollutants (HAPs).
- Our UV-curing facility requires substantially less floor space and runs at a much faster line speed than conventional painting or heat-driven (thermoset) powder coating plants, translating into higher productivity and reduced energy consumption.
- And because we mill parts first and then finish, our material utilization is much higher, producing much less waste compared to laminate or melamine finishes where parts are finished before they are milled.

All of our business is conducted in ways that protect our natural resources and minimize the consumption of those resources. Productivity and environmental sustainability are key values at DVUV. They’re good for our planet, they’re good for our customers and they’re also smart business.
