Sustainable MDF

  • We use only 100% recycled content MDF that diverts wood waste from landfills and incinerators. 
  • All of the MDF used to manufacture UVMax components is certified by the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI).
  • Our standard MDF already meets the January 2009 limit of < 0.21 ppm urea-formaldehyde emissions adopted by the California Air Resources Board (CARB).

Environmentally Safe Finish

  • All UVMax powder formulations exceed EPA and LEED criteria for low-VOC paints and coatings by using absolutely no solvents and emitting zero VOCs.
  • UVMax is as tough as vinyl laminates but without the PVC (polyvinyl chloride) pollution of vinyl coatings.

Energy Efficient Manufacturing

  • The UVMax powder coating and UV-curing process requires just 20 minutes to transform raw PDF parts into fully finished components ready for assembly.
  • Because of the speed and efficiency of the finishing process, UVMax results in a 40-60% energy savings compared to other finish alternatives, such as laminating.

Minimal Material Consumption

  • The photopolymer bonds created during the UV-curing process are so strong that only 3-5 mils of powder coating are required to create a surface strong enough to undergo NEMA impact testing at 35" with no cracking and ASTM abrasion testing for wear-thru at 3000 cycles with no effects.

Zero Waste Stream

  • Any residual powder that remains after manufacturing is recycled into plastics.
  • Our MDF scrap is recycled as mulch and garden materials.
  • Because the MDF and powder are both VOC-free and non-toxic, UVMax finished components are recyclable after use and do not need to go to landfills once the final, assembled units reach the end-of-life.
